Managing templates
As a client admin, you control which templates your company uses, and whether employees get any say.
How a card's template is decided
CardLink checks these in order and uses the first match:
- The template the person picked for themselves (for a shared mailbox, the one its current claimant picked, or one you've assigned to the mailbox)
- For shared mailboxes only: your domain's "Default for Shared Mailboxes"
- Your domain's default template
- The standard CardLink template
If a template gets deleted, anything using it just falls through to the next one in this list.
What you can set, and where
| Setting | Where |
|---|---|
| Your domain's default template, and the default for shared mailboxes | Admin console, Domains tab |
| Whether employees may choose their own template, and how many they can keep | Admin console, Self-Service tab |
| Which templates are offered for employees to choose from | Admin console, Self-Service tab |
| Which templates are offered for a specific shared mailbox | Admin console, Mailboxes tab |
A template tagged for people only can't be offered for shared mailboxes.
