Aliases

EmployeesClient admins

An alias is an extra email address on a mailbox — a second domain, or a role-style address — that can get its own CardLink card.

For client admins: activating an alias

CardLink finds aliases automatically from Microsoft 365 and lists them, but doesn't turn them into cards on its own. In the admin console's Aliases tab, press Activate to give one its own share link and card. Deactivate hides it again (and its link stops resolving). Your company also needs "Include aliases" turned on overall for this tab to have anything to activate.

For employees: what it looks like

Once your admin activates an alias for you, it shows up in your portal under My Cards alongside your main card. You can edit the alias's job title and other allowed fields independently of your main card — it's meant for a different role or brand, so it doesn't have to match.

Employees can't activate an alias themselves — that's always a client admin action.
